A coal washing plant transforms into the Ruhr Museum

Situated in the northwest part of Germany, the Ruhr region is Germany’s largest urban settlement, in terms of population. The Ruhr District is an industrial region which mainly grew through the coal industry.  It suffered a good deal of economic set back during the 70’s and the 80′ and the industrial focus shifted to technology and service. For the past few years, the effort has been to transform this region as the culture hub of Germany and the recent addition to that process is the New Ruhr Museum. The Museum has been designed by re-modifying and restructuring a coal washing plant. The architecture, display and design is simply marvellous. Click here for more.
