Founded by John Bissell in 1960, Fabindia has established itself as a leading enterprise in the creation of products using traditional Indian crafts and techniques. The company has played a significant role in the revival of traditional Indian crafts and textiles, which needs to be documented for posterity.
Eka was approached by Fabindia to develop and create a working archive that is based in and integrated with its workflow requirements, in partnership with the primary in-house teams accessing the archival material. The new archiving system was meant to provide a reference resource that could be actively incorporated into the company’s day to day processes as well as be a reference point for research, not only for employees but also for scholars and researchers alike.
