The Art of Heritage Group (AHG) previously The Heritage Center (a division of Al Nahda Charity) holds a vast collection of traditional textiles, carpets, jewelry, artifacts, doors and other material objects important to the culture, tradition, heritage and history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The AHG aims to preserve and protect Saudi heritage, and disseminate information on its rich and diverse culture and traditions, both within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to the outside world.
Our role
Eka was invited to survey the textile collections of the group, selecting highlights for documentation, to be later compiled into a book, accompanied by an exhibition. We were also asked to formulate allied outreach programmes and activities to augment the potential of the collection. Phase I of documentation is complete, and Phase II is currently being planned.
