The future of the Library

E-books are all around us. They are fast replacing those bound volumes of printed paper we always stacked in shelves and racks. There has been numerous folds on the forehead regarding the future of publishing and printing. We are all more or less aware of these pros and cons by now. But what about libraries? In an age where platforms of information exchange operate electronically, where do these archetypal institutions feature in the imagination of a fast evolving global populace? Are they becoming redundant? Or do they still hold the promise of being what they are, repositories of knowledge and wonder? Here’s something to start thinking about it.
