After opening the doors of major art museums across the world, with its Art Project, Google now has ventured to map historical sites and monuments. The new Google Street View Programme has recently been employed to exhibit vignettes of ancient Rome. Though such projects aim to promote a shared platform with universal access, some things are always, essentially kept at bay. The Art Project does not showcase a lot of important works of art, owing to security concerns. Where does one draw a line? Isn’t art meant to be shared?
