“Underserved” audiences and how they can be served

Article on the Museum 2.0 site that talks about what it really means to serve ‘underserved’ audiences. A project where an adjunct to a science center  involves youngsters from disadvantaged neighbourhoods etc. to both improve their science skills as well as to teach them life skills that are transferrable at older ages to jobs, like speaking and presentation, skills that these kids would not normally have had the chance to develop. Eka would love to be a part of such projects but given that our museums so rarely possess the vision and commitment for activities like this, how can we help? Do our museums even think in terms of service? What do you think?
