The Dead Sea Scrolls go online

Claimed to be one of the most important archaeological finds of the last century, the famous Dead Sea Scrolls are now online for the world to access. Almost two millennia old, these scrolls are a set of Biblical and extra-Biblical literature compiled in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. These are composed of tens and thousands of fragments from about 900 scroll discovered over time around the Dead Sea, the region now referred to as the West Bank. Out of these, a selection of five manuscripts have been chose by the collaborative endeavour launched by the National Museum of Israel and Google, to be displayed online. High resolution images of these scrolls, the Great Isaiah Scroll, the War Scroll, the Temple Scroll, the Community Rule Scroll and the Commentary on the Habakkuk Scroll are up for scholars, researchers and enthusiasts to access. Translations are also available for individual verses and chapters. The interface is attractive and easy to operate.  Check it out.
