Specialists from the Courtauld Institute in London have been given unique access to help document and conserve murals and artworks across monasteries and Dzongs (fortresses) in the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan. The conservation work is being carried out with funding from a private US benefactor and the project is a three year research collaboration between the Courtauld Institute and the Bhutan department of culture. Eka had helped curate an exhibition on the photographic history of Bhutan in late 2009 & early 2010 at the National Gallery of Modern Art, (NGMA) New Delhi, which was inaugurated by the Bhutanese King, H.M. Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuck. We are continuing to develop larger projects on cultural heritage management in Bhutan. Eka’s Pramod Kumar KG is also one of the two Directors of the Mountain Echoes Literature Festival held in Bhutan.
