Google Map a route to the Danish National Maritime Museum, and you’ll end up at an address with no visible building. In the distance, just outside of Copenhagen, you’ll see the monolithic Kronborg castle, the same castle that was the basis for Shakespeare’s Hamlet, but there’s no maritime museum to speak of. Until you look down. At one point in time, the maritime museum was actually housed inside the Kronborg palace, but after the castle became an UNESCO world heritage site, the museum was evicted and forced to find a new home.
