Client: Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal, Udaipur
July 2016
A pioneering cultural institution of Udaipur, the Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal preserves and celebrates the folk traditions of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Established in 1952, the institution’s mandate is to propagate folk dances, literature and other arts. Its in-house museum hosts a significant collection of folk artifacts which include garments, textiles, ornaments, puppets, dolls, sculpted dieties, paintings etc.
Our role
Eka’s role is to assess the institution’s current holdings and their program and activities to provide a roadmap for the future. This would include re-planning the museum, suggesting a collection management plan for the institution. Eka will eventually prepare a strategic plan to revive this space and activate and maximise its potential.
