‘A Portrait of Our People’ at Drishyakala, Red Fort

The Archaeological Survey of India in collaboration with DAG (Delhi Art Gallery) opened Drishyakala – A unique Art Museum at the Red Fort’s newly restored Barrack No. 4 in New Delhi. Through four iconic exhibitions with over 450 artworks spread over 27,000 square feet, DAG explores through artworks from its own collection the development of Indian modern art from the 18th century onwards. Curated by Pramod Kumar KG, the exhibition ‘A Portrait of Our People’ captures a changing India visualised through its people. In pen and ink, paint and canvas, print and paper and all manner of art, it sought to understand a portrait of a people and the remarkable times they lived through.
