Property of a Gentleman, Stamps from the Nizam of Hyderabad’s Dominions – was a pioneering exhibition featuring rare stamps from the Ewari family collection. Stamps from the erstwhile princely state of Hyderabad were chosen for display from this extensive collection due to the Ewari family’s deep personal connect with Hyderabad. Curated by Pramod Kumar KG and sponsored by the Gujral Foundation, the exhibition held at Bikaner House, displayed exquisitely calligraphed stamps but also stamps that featured monuments from the Nizam’s expansive domain. Related material culture and ephemera such as handwritten, calligraphed and illuminated letters in several scripts, postcards, monogrammed envelopes, notes and seals were also part of the display.
The exhibition opened on 8th March and was on display till 24th March 2019.
