Client: Board of Trustees, Masina Hospital, Byculla, Mumbai
MAR-MAY 2021
Home to David Sassoon, one of the wealthiest Baghdadi Jews in erstwhile Bombay and today one of Mumbai’s oldest private charitable hospital, the Masina Hospital has served as a humanitarian institution for well over a century.
The seeds of healthcare planted by a dedicated doctor in 1902, have grown into a vibrant facility providing various medical facilities to thousands of people, irrespective of their caste, creed, or religion. Masina Hospital has always served members of the middle to lower rungs of society.
The hospital also bears its historic heritage proudly and the Trustees approached Eka to undertake the inventory of the historic artefacts in their care. Our responsibilities included photography, documentation and research in a historic building that during the duration of the project was a Covid Care facility.
