About Us

Eka Cultural Resources and Research was set up in 2009 to address the increasing need for a professional organisation within the culture and heritage industry. Eka aims at providing professional services that add quality and excellence in this field. This nascent and niche sector has the potential to employ a large number of people and significantly increase revenue for cultural institutions. We identify and create key linkages resulting in an increase in both tangible and intangible cultural activity.

Eka prides itself on being able to create content with tailored solutions for a diverse range of cultural activities. The company specializes in planning and creating archives, museums and cultural complexes. Eka also provides assistance in research, documentation and publication for a wide range of cultural industries. We scenograph & create content for arts festivals, seminars, and symposiums, and help design exhibitions. Our services extend to advising art collectors on their material object acquisitions and the management of their collections. We also serve as a nodal agency for the promotion of cultural tourism in India with a focus on indigenous culture and the performing arts.

PRAMOD KUMAR KG

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Pramod Kumar KG is the co-founder of Eka Archiving Services, India’s first museum and cultural advisory firm. He has curated shows and lectured extensively worldwide while working with a vast range of  artefacts that vary greatly in their materiality.  As an independent researcher and a published author, he has made contributions to several edited volumes, journals, magazines and books.  He is the founder director of the Jaipur Literature Festival and was the co-director of Mountain Echoes, the Bhutan Literature Festival till 2019.

DEEPTHI SASIDHARAN

DIRECTOR

Deepthi Sasidharan is an art historian and curator and her academic qualifications in museology provide a comprehensive approach to managing projects. She works on heritage and museum projects across India with the Government, private and corporate clients. Under her, Eka has executed projects that have been path-breaking in India, including several museums, seminal exhibitions and the creation of archives like those for Kalakshetra in Chennai, City Palace in Udaipur and Tata Trusts in Mumbai.

MOUSHUMI CHATTERJI

LEAD STRATEGIST

Moushumi Chatterji, Museologist and Cultural Heritage Practitioner, has 18 years of experience in the field of museography, heritage planning and management. Committed towards cultural stewardship she brings together her passion and skill to engage in projects central to cultural dialogues. She has worked for leading international, government and private organisations in areas of cultural interpretation, Modern Art, creative industries, safeguarding cultural and natural heritage. These cross-disciplinary projects, with World Bank Group, Asian Development Bank, ICOMOS, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, DAG, Eka Archiving Services, has motivated her to meaningfully engage in areas of social and cultural inclusion by means of democratized access in promoting and managing art and cultural and natural heritage.

ANITA JACOB KOSHY

SR. MANAGER-COLLECTION MANAGEMENT, ADMINISTRATION & TRAINING

Anita’s area of interest and professional practice lies in collection management – focusing primarily on museum documentation systems and collection care. In 2006, she was nominated by the US Ambassador to visit the United States on the US State Department’s International Visitor’s Leadership Program (IVLP) that facilitated her to officially visit premier public and private museums, cultural institutions across five states to study and observe their collection management systems and storage facilities.

At Eka, Anita monitors projects associated with documenting art collections: managing them in accordance with international museum standards and practices. She also advises the management of collection databases once collections are digitised; through the formulation of procedural manuals and writing policy documents. She also plans, implements and custom trains Eka staff in two areas: documenting art collections and records management.

ANKITA CHUGH

MANAGER – OPERATIONS (DELHI)

Ankita has a graduate degree in History from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, as well as a Masters in History, with a specialisation in Modern Indian History, from University of Delhi and a Masters in the History and Culture of Fashion from London College of Fashion, University of the Arts, London. Ankita has an interest in textile and costume history and is interested in the relationship between issues of clothing for men, masculinity and culture in 18th century colonial India. She also has a background in retail, research and analysis.

Ankita currently manages and administers multiple projects across North India and also overseas various aspects associated with research and curatorial responsibilities.

PARIMAL MANDAL

OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

Parimal is a Commerce graduate from Delhi University. After completing computer classes in Basic and Web Designing, he worked as a home tutor, teaching Primary, and Secondary, levels for a decade. Currently he helms administrative responsibilities at Eka.

TSERING CHOSDOL

PROJECT LEAD/SR. ARCHIVIST

Tsering graduated in Buddhist Philosophy and also pursued an Acharya Degree (equivalent to a Master’s degree) in the same field from the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarnath, Varanasi. She also holds a Diploma in Heritage Site Management and Scientific Conservation from Deccan College Post-Graduate and Research Institute, Pune- a degree offered in collaboration with INTACH, NRLC and the National Museum Institute (National Museum, New Delhi).

Tsering is currently pursuing an PhD in Archaeology and Ancient Indian History and Culture (AIHC) at the Deccan College Post-Graduate and Research Institute Pune. Her doctoral research focuses “Researching and Archiving the Diversity of Ladakh Rock Art, with Special Reference to Stupa Depictions.” As a student of archaeology, she has also participated in various excavations, including one held in Nagardhan in 2018. Tsering’s interests lie in archaeology of Buddhism, as well as Buddhist philosophy.

SAMEER

OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR ASSISTANT

Sameer began his journey as a Studio Assistant at Printer’s Devil, a Delhi-based printmaking studio. With Printer’s Devil, he has gained an exposure in the field of arts and cultural heritage while working on a wide range of photographs and negatives owned by various cultural institutions. He was trained by Mr. Ishan Tankha, a renowned photographer and has assisted him in several exhibitions. He also has experience of working in documentary cinema. He has been working as a commercial photographer and is now interested in working with heritage collections. Being an avid traveller, he also has a keen interest in travel photography.

KARMAN KAUR RANDHAWA

PROJECT MANAGER

Karman Kaur Randhawa is a heritage professional with experience in business archives, mixed collection care, cataloguing, oral history, research, analysis and heritage advocacy. A real history nerd, her interests lie in sharing stories from the past, whether from India’s medieval past or from a company’s rich historical archives.

She has a Master’s in Medieval History from Jawaharlal Nehru University and an MPhil in Islamic Art and Archaeology from University of Oxford. She also has a Postgraduate certification in Archives and Records Management from the University of Dundee, Scotland.

DEVANSHEE SHARMA

JR. ARCHIVIST

Devanshee Sharma holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and a Master’s degree in Modern Indian History from the University of Delhi. With experience as a cultural mapper at the Pattani Archives in Gujarat, she has developed a keen interest in cultural practices, history, archives, and art. Devanshee has also volunteered with the Asia Society, India, and contributed to the curation of gallery exhibits at the digital and industrial museums in Gwalior as part of the Gwalior Smart City Mission.

ASTHA PANDYA

ARCHIVIST

Astha Pandya holds a master’s degree in English literature and is deeply interested in art, storytelling, and preserving historical and cultural narratives. Her passion for these fields is reflected in her experience at Pattani Archives, where she worked as a research assistant. During her time there, Astha was involved in curating, documenting, and cataloguing archival material and recording oral histories, which helped preserve valuable cultural insights and narratives. Alongside her work in archiving, Astha is an avid reader and movie enthusiast, often drawing inspiration from literature and cinema to enrich her understanding of the world around her.

AISHWARYA KIRIT

COLLECTIONS REGISTRAR

Aishwarya is a museum professional and is happiest researching and writing about history and culture. She has worked with the archives of the Star of Mysore, Mysuru, through an India Foundation for the Arts grant (2022-23) as well as projects with the Museum of Indian Paper Money, Bengaluru (2022-23), 1 Shanthi Road Studio/Gallery, Bengaluru (2023-24), and DAG, New Delhi (2018-20) as well as leading heritage walks in Bangalore and Mysore since 2022.

She has also tried her hand at journalism, RJ-ing and language translation before finding her place in the antiquated statues.

NIKHIL SHARMA

STORE MANAGER

Nikhil Sharma holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and a Master’s in Museology, complemented by a certification in Digital Marketing. With expertise in curation, museum education, design, and collection management, he has been instrumental in the development of the Parliament Museum, Delhi and the G20 Summit exhibition, Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh (2023). His work at the National Museum, Delhi, focused on fostering meaningful educational engagement, while at the Prime Ministers’ Museum and Library, he managed archival records and supported research initiatives, ensuring the preservation and accessibility of historical materials.

Passionate about the intersection of history, storytelling, and design, Nikhil is dedicated to creating immersive and accessible museum experiences. Beyond his professional pursuits, he explores cultural landscapes through photography and research.

RAJESH POOJARI

ART CONSERVATOR

Rajesh Poojari is an Art Conservator-Restorer and Archaeologist with over a decade of experience in heritage conservation, archaeological research, and material culture studies. He holds a Ph.D. in Archaeological Conservation from IISER Mohali and a postgraduate diploma in Built Heritage Studies & Conservation from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS), Mumbai.

His expertise includes the conservation of stone, metal, paintings and archaeological objects, along with rock art documentation, museology, and built heritage preservation. He has worked with institutions such as the CSMVS, Mumbai, and was deputed internationally for the conservation of the Al Sabah Collection at Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah, Kuwait. He had been actively involved with Urjita Centre for Art Conservation and Heritage Management LLP, contributing to museum object conservation, heritage site work, and training initiatives. He has also conducted lectures and training sessions at the University of Mumbai, St. Xavier’s College, and other institutions across India.

As a researcher, he has published in Ancient Asia, Purakala, and the APAR Bulletin, with work focusing on rock art in Madhya Pradesh, ancient and medieval remains in Mumbai, and epigraphical studies from Maharashtra.

SINDHURA DM

PROJECT MANAGER/SR. RESEARCHER

Sindhura DM is a researcher, curator, and one of the Directors of Jackfruit Research & Design Pvt. Ltd. She also coordinates the Art, Resources and Teaching Trust. This not-for-profit organisation runs a public art library. As part of Jackfruit, Sindhura has led several curatorial and writing projects. Most recently, she was the lead curator of Mutable: Ceramic and Clay Art in India Since 1947 (Piramal Museum of Art, 2017).

Her research and curatorial interests lie in craft, design, textiles, and ceramics. In 2024, she was one of the editors of Restless Line in the Art of Seema Kohli, a publication exploring the work of the acclaimed contemporary artist.

AKSHAY CHAVAN

PROJECT MANAGER & ARCHIVIST

Akshay Chavan is a writer, historian, and anthropologist with over two decades of experience exploring India’s cultural landscapes and heritage. A graduate of the University of Lancaster, UK, he began his career in the corporate world, working in digital media and SEO, before dedicating himself full-time to research and storytelling.

He has authored more than 200 articles on Indian history, art, and culture. His core interests lie in India’s economic history and its rich traditions of jewellery, textiles, and royal patronage—bringing together research, storytelling, and lived heritage.

GANESH L.

RESEARCH ASSOCIATE & ARCHIVIST

Ganesh holds a Master’s in Ancient Indian History and Culture & Archaeology (AIHC) from the Deccan College Post-Graduate and Research Institute, Pune. He has worked on multiple archaeological projects, as well as in heritage tourism and archiving.

A cinephile who loves anime, Ganesh enjoys reading about psychology and philosophy.

GULFISHAN RAHMAN

ARCHIVIST

Gulfishan holds a master’s degree in Museum and Artefact Studies from Durham University, England, and a bachelor’s in history from Lady Sri Ram College, Delhi.

Being raised in an ancestral house, she has always been fascinated by historical artefacts, leading to a passion for researching and documenting them. Her recent work at the Museum of Art and Photography, Bangalore, as a Documentation Assistant helped evolve her skills in archiving and managing the Museum’s Collections database.

With her experience and academic background, she aims to make cultural heritage accessible to a broader audience. Besides her professional training, she likes travelling and exploring different cultural traditions.

ALEENA ELIZABETH PHILIP

ARCHIVIST

Aleena completed her graduation in History and Spanish, followed by a Master’s degree in Ancient Indian History, Culture, and Archaeology from St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai. She has a deep interest in heritage management, archiving, and conservation and restoration practices. Previously, Aleena worked as an Assistant Curator at the Heritage Transport Museum in Gurugram and as a Research Assistant and Archival Producer at Pippip Media. These experiences have allowed her to further explore and strengthen her passion for history and cultural preservation.

Outside of work, Aleena enjoys playing basketball, which serves as a great stress reliever. In her free time, she also likes to paint and read books, both of which keep her creatively engaged and inspired.

ABHAY BHALLA

RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

Abhay Bhalla is an artist and researcher based in Delhi.

He completed his Master’s in Fine Arts from Shiv Nadar University in 2024. Previously, in 2020, he graduated with a Master’s in South Asian Studies, majoring in Art History & Visual Culture and History, from the University of Heidelberg, Germany. His final thesis was titled “(Re)-locating the Start of Indian Contemporary Art.” His research interests in art history and theory focus on the dynamic fields of modern and contemporary art, particularly concerning the Indian subcontinent. He examines the process of writing art history, the formation of canons, and the gaps in the existing historiography. His goal is to re-examine current narratives to propose more comprehensive histories.

Abhay’s art practice is inquiry and proposition-driven and explored through various disciplines, including art, literature, philosophy, and theory. These inquiries, which represent an unfettered research space, find expression in performance, video, photography, installation, and text, which he practices independently and collaboratively as an artist, researcher, curator, educator, and writer. At Eka, Abhay is working on multiple curatorial and research projects.

KRISHNA SURESH

ARCHIVIST

Krishna Suresh has earned her Master’s degree in Museology from the Indian Institute of Heritage, previously known as the National Museum Institute in New Delhi. As a museum professional, she has gained valuable experience in archiving, documentation, and artist relations through her roles as an Archivist and Artist Liaison. She has extensive knowledge of gallery and museum operations, including preventive conservation and documentation, and a strong background in contemporary art and exhibition curation. Additionally, she was an active research team member for the Directory of Museums in India, a project commissioned by the Ministry of Culture. Krishna has also contributed to numerous publications from the Department of Museology at the Indian Institute of Heritage.

MS SUMAN

ORAL HISTORY SPECIALIST

Suman is a writer and oral history researcher whose work explores the intersections of language, folk narratives, and lived experience. Over a decade of listening and interpreting stories, she has worked as a collaborator for a Maithil Women’s Folktales Archive and a docu-drama Sama in the Forest.

She is working on an oral history archive that explores how memory, leadership, and everyday lives intertwine over time.

Trained in English literature, she holds a Master’s degree in the discipline from University of Delhi. Apart from work, she enjoys exploring new recipes.

MD. JAMSHED AHMED

PHOTOGRAPHER

Md. Jamshed is a dedicated photographer with a talent for capturing historical moments and telling stories through his images. He has a particular passion for product photography, bringing them to life through his lens. His photography journey began as a college hobby and has since turned into a fulfilling career. One of his significant achievements includes showcasing and selling his work at the Art For All Gallery, highlighting his artistic vision and technical skill. Jamshed has worked on various projects, including product shoots for Amazon, podcasts, and political events, as well as documentaries featuring Baba Bhalku in Shimla, the Rock Garden in Chandigarh, BRICS CCI in Delhi, Dabur, and Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan.

Prashant is a passionate photographer with a keen eye for detail and storytelling through visuals. Prashant holds a Master’s degree in Mass Communication and brings a dynamic blend of academic insight and hands-on experience to his craft. He has worked closely with renowned industry photographers and filmmakers, honing his skills through numerous on-set shoots and creative collaborations. Off the clock, Prashant finds his rhythm in the mountains—trekking, hiking, and chasing light through untouched landscapes.
