About Us

Eka Cultural Resources and Research was set up in 2009 to address the increasing need for a professional organisation within the culture and heritage industry. Eka aims at providing professional services that add quality and excellence in this field. This nascent and niche sector has the potential to employ a large number of people and significantly increase revenue for cultural institutions. We identify and create key linkages resulting in an increase in both tangible and intangible cultural activity.

Eka prides itself on being able to create content with tailored solutions for a diverse range of cultural activities. The company specializes in planning and creating archives, museums and cultural complexes. Eka also provides assistance in research, documentation and publication for a wide range of cultural industries. We scenograph & create content for arts festivals, seminars, and symposiums, and help design exhibitions. Our services extend to advising art collectors on their material object acquisitions and the management of their collections. We also serve as a nodal agency for the promotion of cultural tourism in India with a focus on indigenous culture and the performing arts.

PRAMOD KUMAR KG

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Pramod Kumar KG is the co-founder of Eka Archiving Services, India’s first museum and cultural advisory firm. He has curated shows and lectured extensively worldwide while working with a vast range of  artefacts that vary greatly in their materiality.  As an independent researcher and a published author, he has made contributions to several edited volumes, journals, magazines and books.  He is the founder director of the Jaipur Literature Festival and was the co-director of Mountain Echoes, the Bhutan Literature Festival till 2019.

DEEPTHI SASIDHARAN

DIRECTOR

Deepthi Sasidharan is an art historian and curator and her academic qualifications in museology provide a comprehensive approach to managing projects. She works on heritage and museum projects across India with the Government, private and corporate clients. Under her, Eka has executed projects that have been path-breaking in India, including several museums, seminal exhibitions and the creation of archives like those for Kalakshetra in Chennai, City Palace in Udaipur and Tata Trusts in Mumbai.

MOUSHUMI CHATTERJI

LEAD STRATEGIST

Moushumi Chatterji, Museologist and Cultural Heritage Practitioner, has 18 years of experience in the field of museography, heritage planning and management. Committed towards cultural stewardship she brings together her passion and skill to engage in projects central to cultural dialogues. She has worked for leading international, government and private organisations in areas of cultural interpretation, Modern Art, creative industries, safeguarding cultural and natural heritage. These cross-disciplinary projects, with World Bank Group, Asian Development Bank, ICOMOS, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, DAG, Eka Archiving Services, has motivated her to meaningfully engage in areas of social and cultural inclusion by means of democratized access in promoting and managing art and cultural and natural heritage.

ANITA JACOB KOSHY

SR. MANAGER-COLLECTION MANAGEMENT, ADMINISTRATION & TRAINING

Anita’s area of interest and professional practice lies in collection management – focusing primarily on museum documentation systems and collection care. In 2006, she was nominated by the US Ambassador to visit the United States on the US State Department’s International Visitor’s Leadership Program (IVLP) that facilitated her to officially visit premier public and private museums, cultural institutions across five states to study and observe their collection management systems and storage facilities.

At Eka, Anita monitors projects associated with documenting art collections: managing them in accordance with international museum standards and practices. She also advises the management of collection databases once collections are digitised; through the formulation of procedural manuals and writing policy documents. She also plans, implements and custom trains Eka staff in two areas: documenting art collections and records management.

ANKITA CHUGH

MANAGER – OPERATIONS (DELHI)

Ankita has a graduate degree in History from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, as well as a Masters in History, with a specialisation in Modern Indian History, from University of Delhi and a Masters in the History and Culture of Fashion from London College of Fashion, University of the Arts, London. Ankita has an interest in textile and costume history and is interested in the relationship between issues of clothing for men, masculinity and culture in 18th century colonial India. She also has a background in retail, research and analysis.

Ankita currently manages and administers multiple projects across North India and also overseas various aspects associated with research and curatorial responsibilities.

GARVITA SHARMA

PROJECT LEAD

Garvita Sharma, a researcher specializing in Clothing and Textile with 11 years of experience in research and academia, is currently pursuing her PhD at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, focusing on the traditional Textiles and Costumes of Sikkim.

She has previously worked as a Research Associate at NIFT, New Delhi, managing the Repository of Indian Textiles and Craft Project. She also worked as the Collections Manager of a Textile Archive for one of India’s leading fashion designers Ritu Kumar. Garvita has served as a Faculty and Research Associate at ARCH College of Design and Business, Jaipur.

She has taught at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Institute of Fashion Technology, Baroda, and contributed towards artisanal skill development at Kala Raksha Vidhyalaya. She is also engaged with IGNOU in developing course content for undergraduate programs.

For her Master’s program, Garvita researched the Royal Textiles and Costumes of the Maharanis of Baroda (Gaekwad’s). She has presented and published research papers on various national and international platforms. She was also part of the prestigious Sutra Santati Exhibition presented at the National Museum, New Delhi, where she displayed her work, highlighting her creative abilities.

At Eka, Garvita is currently engaged in the development of the Sarita Handa Archives, focusing on documenting the core collection of heritage textiles and costumes.

PARIMAL MANDAL

OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

Parimal is a Commerce graduate from Delhi University. After completing computer classes in Basic and Web Designing, he worked as a home tutor, teaching Primary, and Secondary, levels for a decade. Currently he helms administrative responsibilities at Eka.

TSERING CHOSDOL

ARCHIVIST

Tsering graduated in Buddhist Philosophy and also pursued an Acharya Degree (equivalent to a Master’s degree) in the same field from the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarnath, Varanasi. She also holds a Diploma in Heritage Site Management and Scientific Conservation from Deccan College Post-Graduate and Research Institute, Pune- a degree offered in collaboration with INTACH, NRLC and the National Museum Institute (National Museum, New Delhi).

Tsering is currently pursuing an MPhil in Archaeology and Ancient Indian History and Culture (AIHC) at the Deccan College Post-Graduate and Research Institute Pune. Her research is focused on “A comparative Study of the Development of Stupa Architecture in Ladakh”. As a student of archaeology, she has also participated in various excavations, including one held in Nagardhan in 2018.

Tsering’s interests lie in archaeology of Buddhism, heritage site management and conservation, as well as Buddhist philosophy.

SAMEER

OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR ASSISTANT

Sameer began his journey as a Studio Assistant at Printer’s Devil, a Delhi-based printmaking studio. With Printer’s Devil, he has gained an exposure in the field of arts and cultural heritage while working on a wide range of photographs and negatives owned by various cultural institutions. He was trained by Mr. Ishan Tankha, a renowned photographer and has assisted him in several exhibitions. He also has experience of working in documentary cinema. He has been working as a commercial photographer and is now interested in working with heritage collections. Being an avid traveller, he also has a keen interest in travel photography.

ANUJ MAHOTRA

ARCHIVIST

Anuj graduated from MS University, Baroda with a B. Sc in Textile and Apparel Design. An artist at heart, his passion has led to projects with the National Crafts Museum & Hastkala Academy, among several others. While at the Devi Art Foundation he worked on an archival project on the Saris of India. Anuj is also a textile designer, using his expertise with various homegrown handloom brands and artisans to design textiles with a focus on interventions in design elements. He loves intricacy, patterns, and strives hard to create profound stories in textiles.

KARMAN KAUR RANDHAWA

PROJECT MANAGER

Karman Kaur Randhawa is a heritage professional with experience in business archives, mixed collection care, cataloguing, oral history, research, analysis and heritage advocacy. A real history nerd, her interests lie in sharing stories from the past, whether from India’s medieval past or from a company’s rich historical archives.

She has a Master’s in Medieval History from Jawaharlal Nehru University and an MPhil in Islamic Art and Archaeology from University of Oxford. She also has a Postgraduate certification in Archives and Records Management from the University of Dundee, Scotland.

DEVANSHEE SHARMA

JR. ARCHIVIST

Devanshee Sharma holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and a Master’s degree in Modern Indian History from the University of Delhi. With experience as a cultural mapper at the Pattani Archives in Gujarat, she has developed a keen interest in cultural practices, history, archives, and art. Devanshee has also volunteered with the Asia Society, India, and contributed to the curation of gallery exhibits at the digital and industrial museums in Gwalior as part of the Gwalior Smart City Mission.

RAJ MAURYA

PHOTOGRAPHER

Raj Maurya is a multidisciplinary artist, archivist, and researcher with a deep passion for art, culture, and heritage. With a strong foundation in Photography Design and Archiving, Raj’s work spans various forms of visual arts, film, and media, with a particular interest in analogue photography and historical photographic processes. His practice merges photography, archival research, and community engagement to explore untold narratives embedded in cultural traditions, historical artefacts, and oral histories.
Raj’s interests extend to filmmaking, where he blends traditional storytelling with new media, pushing the boundaries of how cultural heritage is visually documented and experienced. His projects reflect a keen curiosity about the dynamic interplay between the past and the present, using film and visual arts to create immersive experiences that provoke thought and foster dialogue.

Driven by a passion for preserving and presenting diverse cultural expressions, Raj is committed to capturing communities’ rich histories and identities through his artistic and archival work. He believes in the power of visual storytelling to inspire empathy, deepen understanding, and highlight the cultural and historical forces that shape societies today.

ASTHA PANDYA

ARCHIVIST

Astha Pandya holds a master’s degree in English literature and is deeply interested in art, storytelling, and preserving historical and cultural narratives. Her passion for these fields is reflected in her experience at Pattani Archives, where she worked as a research assistant. During her time there, Astha was involved in curating, documenting, and cataloguing archival material and recording oral histories, which helped preserve valuable cultural insights and narratives. Alongside her work in archiving, Astha is an avid reader and movie enthusiast, often drawing inspiration from literature and cinema to enrich her understanding of the world around her.

UPMANYU A. MAGOTRA

JR. ARCHIVIST

Upmanyu Anil Magotra is an art historian and lawyer. His academic qualifications include a master’s degree from The Courtauld Institute of Art, London where he specialised in early modern Islamic arts, particularly the Mughals and the Safavids. He also holds a dual degree in law and humanities from Jindal Global University, India where he graduated with the Dean’s award for contributions to the arts.

Upmanyu engages with democratising understudied female histories in early modern Islamic empires and presents gendered analysis of historical narratives. He has worked with commercial, governmental and heritage institutions such as the Indian Supreme Court, India Art Fair, JP Morgan Chase, Centre for Historic Houses, etc. and his research has been published in reputed journals and judicial reports, such as the Oxford Law Journal. He is also the recipient of the Princess Diana Award, awarded for humanitarian action and social entrepreneurship.

Upmanyu is currently advising on an ambitious collection of Nasreen Mohamedi’s works and writing a publication for the same. He has joined Eka as an Archivist, working on the prestigious Art of Heritage Collection in Riyadh.

AARTI TANK

PROJECT MANAGER & SR. ARCHIVIST

After receiving dual postgraduate qualifications from the UK — first, an MA in Fine and Decorative Arts from Sotheby’s Institute of Art followed by a degree in Museum Cultures from the University of London — Aarti Tank is an art world professional experienced in working with private collectors, museums, auction houses, and art fairs. Over the last five years, she has evaluated, managed and curated eclectic collections across seven major cities worldwide, including paintings, photographs, prints, maps, manuscripts, textiles, jewellery, weapons and transports dating from the 8th century to the 21st century.

As an art advisor, curator and appraiser, she specialises in artist research, object authentication, art investment planning, new collection acquisition, digital documentation, exhibition design, establishing institutional protocols and securing new partnerships and funding.
